Greg Powell
Hello! I am Greg Powell and I am running for Beaver County Commissioner.

As lifelong residents of Beaver County my wife Patti and I want to make sure that our two young children have good reasons to stay right here in Beaver County!

As a member of our county’s Tourism Board, I believe that Beaver County has great potential, but needs new leadership and a fresh vision for tomorrow.

As a business owner, I know first hand how critical economic development and growth are to Beaver County. My restaurant has previously been named both the Rochester Chamber Business of the Year, and the Beaver County Chamber Business of the Year. I understand business and I understand that new business growth enhances the quality of community!

"Results ... not Promises" is not just a campaign slogan. It's an attitude and a plan for Beaver County's growth and return to prosperity:

Beaver County is Open for Business: The first part of Greg's plan for our future is to make Beaver County appealing to businesses that desire to relocate and are considering southwestern Pennsylvania. One of the first items of business is to create a one-stop-shop in the courthouse for interested businesses to easily find all the information they need and to assist them with their evaluation and plans to move to our county. In addition to making the county more competitive and business friendly, Greg also will initiate a concerted effort to bring more tourism to the region through regional events and investment in tourism related amenities.

Decrease the Size of Government: Our county government is unfortunately also one of our area’s largest employers. When the size and costs of Beaver County government are compared to neighboring counties of our size, the results are shocking. Greg’s plan is to streamline the size of county government through attrition. At the same time, Greg will push to implement modern technologies and approaches to make government more efficient, cost effective, and user friendly.

Give Back to the People: The people of the county will benefit from a responsive government and the addition of quality jobs to our area. Money saved from cost-cutting in the government sector will allow for more revenue to be invested in our sadly lacking infrastructure, will make our area more attractive to families and businesses, and will allow for sorely needed updates of recreational and quality of life amenities.
